Time to Move On…

… move my blog on to a new environment, that is! Yes, after running my blog off the quite unconventional (but rather full featured and easy to use) iBlog application, I’ve decided to move the virtual homestead to a 21st century platform.

I haven’t decided whether I’ll move to my own hosted platform or use an ASP solution. I’m leaning towards the latter, with wordpress.com the current leading candidate. (Though while it would be terrible overkill, I’ve always had a softspot for drupal.) But before I get to that point, my first challenge is to figure out how to get my legacy content out of iBlog. As it turns out, iBlog’s “export” command isn’t worth much (it only spits out a set of .rtfd files, one for each post). And a google search on “iblog” and “export” doesn’t turn up much either. So if anyone has any ideas, please drop me a note! When I am ready to switch over, I’ll run both systems while I update links, referrers, etc.
